In May 2006, we hosted an
Ascension Day celebration of the 30th anniversary of the
ordination of women to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church. The
first female bishop in the entire Anglican Communion, the Rt. Rev.
Barbara C. Harris, preached and celebrated at a service in the
cathedral on Thursday 25 May, and also spoke at the luncheon which
followed. It was a great celebration!
